After The Rain is now part of the Malaysian Photobook Archive

So much has happened during the pandemic years. After two and half of inertia, I’m mobilising again as the world began to open up for travels and new opportunities.

I had a bad Covid19 in March 2022, after dodging the disease for months. Ironically, I caught it at the first photography festival I attended after the lockdown. The long Covid complications I suffered afterwards made me realised that time is truly fleeting, so I launched After The Rain: Number 2 in June and submitted it into the British Library’s legal deposit collection.

The second edition is my contemplation of life between London and Pangkor Island. The lockdown had provided plenty opportunity to reflect on the pandemic, which was the consequence of mistreating the environment.

In August, After The Rain: Number 1 and Number 2 participated in the Malaysian Photobook Exhibition 2022, organised by Zontiga and the Photobook Club Kuala Lumpur. They were added into the Malaysian Photobook Archive (MPA) alongside other exhibited photobooks.

I’m proud that the photography community had persevered and continue to celebrate the craft despite the challenges. I hope to continue contributing to a meaningful legacy through my work.
